THE CAGE
The Cage is a 6,000 sq. ft. indoor sports facility located in Hudson, NY. Mainly setup for baseball and softball, it can also be used for basketball, lacrosse, soccer, as well as speed & agility training. We have games such as cornhole, dodge ball, and kan-jam. Host your child's birthday party here and have a blast!

We offer full facility, single tunnel rentals, private baseball and softball lessons, as well as different clinics and camps throughout the year. Our staff is made up of experienced area coaches who work well with any skill level of player.
meet the COACHES
Dave Ames
Coach Ames is a D1 baseball coach with the University at Albany where he mainly works with hitters and position players and also served as their 1st base coach on game days. During his tenure with UAlbany, he helped lead them to their best winning percentage over a 4-year span since the program moved to the Division 1 level. Ames was part of the staff that saw two Coach of the Year Awards given to the UAlbany head coach Jon Mueller (2019 & 2021). He has coached nine 1st Team All-Conference (America East), six 2nd Team All-Conference, five All-Rookie, and twelve All-Academic Team selections. Prior to his years with the Great Danes, Ames was a pitching coach with Hudson Valley CC, where he helped lead them to a regional final and a top 10 ranking in the nation. His pitching staff was 5th in the nation, holding opponents to a .231 batting average and an ERA of 3.69 that ended up 11th best in the country. Ames served on the staff with current Siena Head Coach Alex Jurczynski who was named NJCAA Regional Head Coach of the Year in 2016. Coach Ames was also the head coach of the Saugerties Stallions of the Perfect Game Collegiate Baseball League where he coached several major league draft picks as well as players that went on to sign professional contracts. Scott Steltz
Coach Steltz is in his 24th season with the Chatham Panthers, his 23rd as head coach of the varsity team. While Steltz has been in charge, the Panthers have an overall record of 338-181 and are 7-time Patroon Conference Champions. That win total ranks him 27th currently all-time in Section 2. He has been named the Patroon Conference coach of the year three times, he is also a two-time ABCA Region 1 High School Coach of the Year. In 2008, Steltz led the Panthers to the state final, finishing as the runner-up. In the summer, he coaches the past three seasons with the Albany Dutchmen of the Perfect Game Collegiate Baseball League.
